Smitty’s Collision Center
Oswell Eve Smith “Smitty” began his career welding container ships and progressed to large truck frame repair. He started Smitty’s Front End and Frame Shop in 1963 in Downtown Savannah just off of Lathrop Avenue. In 1967 he went in to business with his son Thomas Smith and Smitty’s Frame Shop was born.
The shop moved to its current Dean Forest Road location in 1972. Brett Smith, son of Thomas worked alongside his father for 15 years until Thomas Smith passed away in 2008. Brett Smith, now the third generation owner along with our management team of Stacy Solomon and Orlando Estrada have worked tirelessly to move our shop forward toward our goal of growth and expansion and have made Smitty’s Collision the repair center it is today.
Brett has brought the shop in to a new generation of vehicle collision repair. In 2012 Stacy Solomon joined our team as shop manager and has helped Brett grow Smitty’s Collision Center into what it is today. We are consistently growing and expanding and we have the generous customers of the Savannah area to thank for choosing us for your collision repair needs.
Another important service we offer is making sure to explain to you in detail what is being fixed and why. Leaving the customer feeling informed on the collision repair estimates and process keeps everyone involved so there are no hidden costs or surprises. You know first the extent of the damage found during the initial estimate and tear down. Changes can always occur once the repair is in process if additional damage is found.
Since opening in Savannah 1963, Smitty’s Collision Center is driven to provide you with the very best vehicle collision and auto body and frame repair. We want you to leave our shop 100 percent satisfied with your experience.
